Musisi yang saya suka dan saya nilai berkualitas itu biasanya (entah kenapa) kebanyakan dari Inggris, seperti Queen, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Radiohead, Blur, Keane. Dan sekarang, di periode 2011-2013, dunia terpukau dengan karya-karya musik dari seorang gadis muda bernama Adele (gak nyangka ternyata Adele kelahiran tahun 1988 hihihi). Meskipun masih sangat muda, tapi kemampuannya dalam menghasilkan karya musik yang bermutu sudah diakui oleh kalangan musik dunia. Dilihat dari berbagai pernghargaan bergengsi yang diraihnya, dan juga artikel-artikel maupun komentar dari para kritikus dan sesama musisi, gak diragukan lagi, Adele adalah seorang musisi dan penyanyi yang hebat. Satu hal yang membuat masyarakat bisa langsung menerima musiknya dengan mudah, yaitu keahliannya dalam bikin lagu-lagu galau yang nampol banget, baik dalam hal lirik maupun nada lagunya. Hayooo.. siapa yang suka dengerin lagu-lagu Adele saat hati galau? Pasti banyakk.. :p

Adele Laurie Blue Adkins (born 5 May 1988), better known mononymously as Adele, is an English singer-songwriter. Adele was offered a recording contract from XL Recordings after a friend posted her demos on Myspace in 2006. Her debut album, 19 was released in 2008 to much commercial and critical success in the UK. 19 was certified four times platinum in the UK. 21 is the longest running number one album by a female solo artist on the UK albums chart and the tied for the longest cumulative stay at number one by a female solo artist as well. Adele has also received two Grammy awards, for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

Adele's voice is categorized as contralto. Initially, critics suggested that her vocals were more developed and intriguing than her songwriting, a sentiment Adele agreed with. Adele's first album is of the soul genre, with lyrics describing heartbreak and relationship. Her success occurred simultaneously with several other British female soul singers, with the British press dubbing her a new Amy Winehouse. This was described as a third British Musical Invasion of the US. However, Adele called the comparisons between her and other female soul singers lazy, noting "we're a gender, not a genre". By the beginning of 2009, listeners and critics started to describe Adele as unique. AllMusic wrote that "Adele is simply too magical to compare her to anyone." American singer Beyoncé Knowles cited Adele as one of the influences for her fourth album, Foo Fighters's singer Dave Grohl said 21 is "an amazing record and everybody's so shocked that it's such a phenomenon. I'm not. You know why that record's huge? Because it's f***ing good and it's real. When you have an artist singing about something real and she's incredibly talented, it deserves all the rewards it gets, it's a great record."
